His passion for aircraft led him to a life of entrepreneurship with the founding of Shimoda Aircraft, a detailing and painting service, and then on to become a consultant and project manager at the Palomar Airport Center FBO. Nelson was instrumental in the creation of Premier Jet (later acquired by Atlantic Aviation) and served as the Director of Operations for several years before relocating to Central Oregon.

Committed to Sustainability
As airlines and airports, organizations and individual travelers seek to reduce aviation’s environmental impact, Leading Edge Jet Center is contributing to the solution by including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at its locations. LEJC is proud to be one of the first facilities in North America to offer SAF at its Seattle location. The production and distribution of jet biodiesel is growing, presenting paths forward to reduce our collective carbon footprint. Offering SAF is our commitment to helping customers reduce GHG emissions and helping to increase the supply of sustainable fueling to the broader aviation industry.
- More than 250,000 flights have been performed using SAF (*IATA, 2020)
- Lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions from SAF can be at least 80% lower than traditional jet fuel (*IATA, 2020)
- 2% (~7 billion liters) of the total aviation fuel supply could be SAF by 2025 (*Air Transport Action Group, 2020)
- SAF uses sustainable fuel sources that do not compete with food or water, or damage biodiversity (*IATA, 2020)
